Solomon answered every question she asked. Nothing was too difficult for him because God had given him extraordinary wisdom.
As the Queen observed Solomon’s palace, the Temple, the organization of his servants, the excellence of his officials, the food at his table, and the way he worshipped the Lord, she was overwhelmed.
She declared that the reports she had heard were true—but after seeing everything herself, she realized that the reality was even greater than the stories.
She praised the God of Israel for giving Solomon wisdom to rule with justice and righteousness.
The Queen presented Solomon with valuable gifts, and Solomon generously gave gifts in return before she returned home.
The chapter concludes by describing Solomon’s immense wealth, his annual income of gold, his magnificent throne, his drinking vessels made of gold, and the prosperity of his kingdom. The Bible states that no king before or after Solomon equaled him in wisdom and riches.
What We Learn from 1 Kings Chapter 10
1. God’s Wisdom Becomes a Witness to Others
The Queen of Sheba traveled hundreds of miles because she had heard about Solomon’s wisdom.
His life attracted people to God.
Our lives should do the same.
